The news struck late Saturday evening when fans learned that ‘Friends’ actor, Matthew Perry passed away at his home in California.
According to reports, authorities arrived at Perry’s home around 4p.m. after receiving a phone call about cardiac arrest. First responders arrived on the scene to find him unresponsive.
TMZ is reporting that Perry was found in his hot tub by his assistant and authorities are reporting that, at this time, no foul play is suspected and no drugs were found at the scene.
Perry is most notable for his long time role on the hit sitcom, ‘Friends’. Perry has been pretty successful in the industry since he was a child, acting in shows such as Charles in Charge and Beverly Hills 90210.

Prior to Perry’s passing, he wrote a memoir and released it in 2022 titled, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. Perry opened up about his challenges with drug and alcohol abuse.
At the age of 49, Perry stated that his colon burst from a opioid overdose. He fought for his life while in a coma for 2 weeks. This was a major change for him as he underwent multiple surgeries and had to live with a colostomy bag for almost a year of his life.
The news of Matthew Perry’s sudden passing has shocked many of his fans and the entertainment industry. Matthew is survived by his parents and his siblings.
He was only 54.
